They come from all over the world and they are the future of the classical music scene: talented young people come to Zermatt every year for two weeks to play music together at the highest level.
As stipendiary students of the Zermatt Festival Academy, they receive valuable advice from the Scharoun Ensemble Berlin and together they perform in chamber and orchestral concerts. They will accompany several soloists, including the Latvian violinist Baiba Skride.
The rehearsals from 7 to 18 September are open to the public (information about times can be obtained from Zermatt Tourismus and on the website www.zermattfestival.com). This intensive rehearsal period culminates in a series of concerts from a variety of chamber music ensembles both in Zermatt and on the Riffelalp.
