Julia Schröder ist Konzertmeisterin und Leiterin des kammerorchesterbasel. Neben der musikalischen Führung des Ensembles tritt sie oft in den grossen Sälen Europas als Solistin in Erscheinung, u.a. im Musikverein Wien, der Philharmonie Berlin, dem Concertgebouw Amsterdam, dem Barbican Center London, den Auditorien in Valencia, Bilbao, Zaragoza, Valladolid und Barcelona. Sie arbeitet ständig mit Sol Gabetta, Pieter Wispelwey, Mariana Mijanovic, Andreas Scholl und Cecilia Bartoli zusammen. Das Studium der Barockvioline bei Chiara Banchini an der Schola Cantorum Basiliensis rundete die vielseitige Ausbildung ab. Immer auf der Suche nach neuen Wegen bringt sie ihre Interpretationen der klassischen Musik in gekonnter Verbindung von historischem Wissen und moderner Spielweise an das Publikum.
Julia Schröder is concertmaster and leader of the Basel Chamber Orchestra. In addition to her musical leadership of the ensemble, she often appears as a soloist in the great concert halls of Europe including the Musikverein in Vienna, the Philharmonie in Berlin, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Barbican Centre in London and venues in Valencia, Bilbao, Zaragoza, Valladolid and Barcelona. She regularly works together with Sol Gabetta, Pieter Wispelwey, Mariana Mijanovic, Andreas Scholl and Cecilia Bartoli. She completed her studies of the baroque violin with Chiara Banchini at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. With an accomplished combination of knowledge of historical practice and modern performing techniques, she is always looking for new ways to bring her performances of Classical music to the public.
