Seine Ausbildung in Chormusik am New College in Oxford beendete Timothy Robinson 1985. Anschliessend setzte er sein Studium an der Guildhall School of Music and Drama fort. In ganz England trat er mit den bedeutendsten Orchestern – BBC Symphony, City of Birmingham Symphony, Royal Philharmonic and Scottish Chamber Orchestras, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment – sowie an den BBC Promenade Concerts unter der Leitung von William Christie, Sir Andrew Davis und Sir Simon Rattle auf. Weitere Konzerte gab er in Amsterdam, Berlin, Wien sowie zahlreichen Opernhäusern, u.a. The English National Opera, and Royal Opera House – Covent Garden, Bayerische Staatsoper München, Salzburg, Hamburg.

He has appeared in concert throughout the United Kingdom, including the BBC Symphony, City of Birmingham Symphony, Royal Philharmonic and Scottish Chamber Orchestras, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and at the Aldeburgh Festival under Steuart Bedford and the BBC Promenade Concerts under William Christie, Sir Andrew Davis and Sir Simon Rattle. Recent dates include concerts in Amsterdam, Berlin, and Vienna as well as operatic engagements in famous opera houses, e.g. English National Opera and Royal Opera House – Covent Garden, Bavarian State Opera in Munich, Salzburg and Hamburg.
