Vesselina Kasarova wurde in Stara Zagora, Bulgarien, geboren. Im Alter von vier Jahren begann sie mit dem Klavierspiel, bevor sie eine Gesangsausbildung an der Musikakademie von Sofia unternahm. Noch vor Abschluss ihres Studiums wurde sie als Solistin an der Nationaloper in Sofia verpflichtet. Ein Vertrag führte sie dann ans Opernhaus Zürich, wo sie innert kurzer Zeit von der internationalen Fachwelt als grosse Entdeckung gefeiert wurde. Im Mozartjahr 1991 debutierte Vesselina Kasarova bei den Salzburger Festspielen. Später wirkte sie als Ensemblemitglied der Wiener Staatsoper mit und gastierte am Grand Théâtre de Genève, am Royal Opera House Covent Garden, am Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, an der Deutschen Oper Berlin, am Muziktheater in Amsterdam, und am Palais Garnier in Paris sowie am Teatro Verdi in Florenz.
Vesselina Kasarova was born in Stara Zagora in Bulgaria. She started learning the piano at the age of four before starting her vocal training at the State Academy of Music in Sofia. She performed as a solist at the National Opera Sofia while she was still studying. A contract then took her to Zurich Opera House where she was quickly recognised by the international music world as a great discovery. She made her debut at the Salzburg Festival in the 1991 Mozart Year. She later became an ensemble member of the Vienna State Opera and has made guest appearances at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the Deutsche Oper in Berlin and the Palais Garnier in Paris and the Teatro Verdi in Florence.
