Zermatt in September is not only a special experience for nature lovers. The seventh Zermatt Festival will also take music lovers to seventh heaven!
From the 2nd to the 18th of September, the late-summer at the foot of the Matterhorn will resound with the finest of classical music concerts: Baritone Stephan Genz and pianist Michel Dalberto open the festival with Brahms' "German Requiem" and also later perform Schubert's "Winterreise"; the violinist Fabio Biondi and the Baroque orchestra Europa Galante demonstrate the art of Vivaldi; the Scharoun Ensemble Berlin, members of the Berliner Philharmoniker, once again form the foundation of the Zermatt Festival Orchestra. With masterpieces by composers from Mozart to Sofia Gubaidulina, the seventh festival again promises to have as much variety as the others.
