Practical Information
Is it necessary to introduce Zermatt?
Perched in the heart of the Alps, the beautiful village offers visitors the most breathtaking panoramas as well as the most modern lodgings and recreation facilities.
This idyllic mountain village at the foot of the Matterhorn has developed into one of the biggest summer and winter resorts. There are no motorised vehicles in Zermatt. Besides electrically-powered cars and bicycles, the only form of transport allowed is horsedrawn sleighs and carriages – the perfect foundation for rest and relaxation.“Real vacations” as the slogan says!

How to get there
Zermatt can be reached by car, via Sion and Täsch (and then by train to Zermatt), by rail via Bern/Brig, or by air via Sion, Zurich and Geneva and then shuttle service or train to Zermatt.

To get to concerts at Riffelalp, take the Gornergrat mountain railway to Riffelalp station and then, for the final leg, the Riffelalp Resorts owns a tram which goes directly to the Riffelalp Chapel.
From the station it is also possible to reach the Chapel by a five minutes walk on one of the most beautiful trails of the Alps.
